When we want a project done, we want it done NOW! It is easy to be eager about the next big project, but it is important not to rush the process.
One often undervalued, but crucial step in the process is a home estimate. When receiving an estimate or multiple estimates, there are a few key questions you should be asking:
- What will the job include? You want to be very clear on your expectations so you can accurately compare costs and other benefits between estimates. You don’t want to be comparing apples to oranges!
- Is the work covered by a warranty? Good contractors will warranty their work because they believe in the services and products they provide. Don’t be left leafing through the fine print to find this out!
- What products are being used to complete the work? Are cheap products being used to reduce costs? Make sure you are confident in what will be in your home!
- Will I have a consistent point of contact with my contractor and their team? Communication is key to reducing stress and making sure things turn out exactly how you want them to!
Asking the right questions upfront will help you confidently compare estimates and filter out bad apples before it is too late. If you would like to get in touch about your next painting project, don’t hesitate to reach out to us!
