Grand Rapids Public Schools

This four-story high school for Grand Rapids Public Schools located near the corner of Grandville Avenue and Rumsey Street of Grand Rapids’ Southwest Side. It is a “themed school” for Grand Rapids Public Schools with a custom-built curriculum centered around dual immersion Spanish-English program.

 

“Anywhere from drywall, block and precast walls all required a different process and material. This school had a unique color combination and lots of different substrates in the classrooms. We had a 4-story stairwell where the supporting steel need to have a 1-hour fire rating with intumescent coatings. We also did some custom stencils in the stairwells along with a large wall in the cafeteria.”
