Black River Barn, an 11,000 square foot state-of-the-art wedding venue and corporate event space. The first of its kind in South Haven, this elegant yet rustic barn-style venue will have the capacity for up to 350 guests.

 

“This was a fun project. It started by having two semi-trucks loaded with tongue and groove pine dropped off at our shop. This pine got a custom industrial stain along

with 3 coats of lacquer. All the large beams throughout were stained almost black with an industrial stain and then top coated with a water based clear coat. The duct

work was painted to match the tongue and groove on the ceiling. They wanted that to match the pine tongue and groove. The cedar was way to pink/red to try and stain and get the results they were asking for. So, we bleached the cedar twice to get the pink/red out and then proceeded to stain in which it looked color wise identical to the pine. The exterior fir beams were hit twice with a semitransparent finish. We finished some custom sliding barn doors that lead to the patio with a custom stain in the middle and trim around the outside to match the building.”
